Pumpkin PYO at Church Farm, Heacham- just 5 minutes from Flock Cottage !

Just a local favourite, Church Farm PYO opens from Saturday 11 October, with no booking required. General entry is £2.50 per person (which includes access to their maize maze). Enjoy a wander through the maze and find the hidden woodland animals if you can, pick your own pumpkin, and enjoy food, drinks & plenty of photo opportunities.

Dogs on leads are usually welcome in the patch, but keep an eye on event updates via their social channels.

Pumpkin Festival at Pensthorpe (25–31 Oct)

Pumpkin picking, carving trails, woodland spooky trails. Pensthorpe's Pumpkin Festival invites families to enjoy creepy woodland trails, encounter scarecrows, and carve your very own pumpkins. Each full-paying child's ticket includes a free pumpkin to pick and carve.

Pumpkin House, Thursford (Opening weekend 11th-12th Oct)

Just a short drive from Flock Cottage, the Pumpkin House is a must-visit this October. Open weekends 11–12 Oct, 18–19 Oct, and daily from 24–31 Oct (10am-4pm), it’s a celebration of all things autumn. A standout autumn destination, Enjoy a house made of pumpkins, maize maze, games, vintage music, and more.

Sandringham Pumpkin House Workshops (29th,30th,31st)

Over the October half term, Sandringham Estate runs “Make Your Own Pumpkin House” workshops on Oct 29–31, with multiple sessions daily. All materials provided; advance booking required. Kids and families get creative, carve pumpkins, and soak up festive spirit in a royal garden setting.

Halloween Garden at Holkham (26th-30th Oct)

Holkham's Walled Garden is getting a mysterious makeover for Halloween. From creepy crafts to potion making, witches’ quests, and storytelling, your little ones will love a day out at Holkham. head to the walled garden for spooky thrills, create creepy crafts and enjoy pumpkin carving.

Wells and Walsingham Light Railway (25th Oct-2nd Nov)

Spooky I Spy- All aboard the spooky express, this October half term you can steam between wells and walsingham with a twist.

Lanterns & Woodland Magic – Bewilderwood

Gin Trap Murder Mystery Supper- just 1 minute from Flock Cottage!

In Ringstead, just a short walk from Flock Cottage, our local village pub The Gin Trap Inn is holding a Murder Mystery evening on Wednesday 29 October, a three-course interactive experience with clues between courses.

Norfolk Coast Dark Skies Festival

Norfolk skies are perfect for stargazing with minimal light pollution. The festival is presented by The Norfolk Coast Protected Landscape team. Look out for a series of events with guided walks, astronomy sessions, and celestial magic in quiet landscapes. All for FREE. Next upcoming date 10th October- Blakeney village hall.

The White Horse, Mussel Festival, Brancaster Staithe

Join coastal celebrations on the Marshside from 22nd-26th October. This is a true Norfolk seafood experience. The mussels are grown locally in Brancaster Bay. Expect live music across the weekend in a heated marquee overlooking the tidal marsh. Enjoy warming drinks and shellfish served in creative ways.
