While our much-loved log burner is currently out of use for November whilst awaiting repair later this month, we’ve made sure the cottage stays every bit as cosy with soft blankets, seasonal touches and toasty heating throughout. Sandringham Christmas Fair & Luminate Light Trail

From 14–16 November, Sandringham Estate transforms into a festive wonderland for the Christmas Craft, Food & Gift Fair. Wander stalls brimming with handmade gifts, artisan produce, and seasonal décor.

From mid-November, the Luminate Sandringham Light Trail begins which is a spellbinding walk through illuminated woodlands, complete with music, light installations, and festive treats. Perfect for couples, families, or anyone who loves a touch of winter magic.

The Thursford Christmas Spectacular

Running from early November through December, the Thursford Christmas Spectacular is one of the UK’s most famous festive shows. Expect dazzling costumes, a live orchestra, dancers, and a sprinkle of nostalgic Christmas joy. It’s less than 40 minutes from Flock Cottage, it’s an unforgettable evening and a brilliant reason for a November getaway.


Top Tip: Pair it with dinner en route or a lazy lunch the next day at The Globe in Wells or The Victoria at Holkham.

Wells Christmas Tide Festival – 22 Nov- Kicking off the season in true coastal style, Wells-next-the-Sea’s Christmas Tide Festival brings the town alive with twinkling lights, festive markets, live music, and family entertainment.

Santa’s grand arrival by boat is a highlight not to be missed, followed by the Christmas lights switch-on and a magical evening beside the quay.

If you love that first sparkle of the season, catch the Wells Christmas Light Switch-On in late November, a cheerful, community celebration complete with music, mulled wine, and market stalls.

A few days later, Burnham Market follows with its own Christmas Light Switch-On, filling the village green with carols, festive stalls, and beautiful boutique displays. Both are a short drive from Flock Cottage and make for wonderful evening outings.

Creake Abbey, North Creake- Sat 22 November

A charming countryside Christmas fair in a beautiful abbey courtyard setting. Expect small-batch crafts, textiles, ceramics, chocolates and festive decorations — all from local makers. It has a slow, calm, wholesome feel that’s ideal if you prefer to avoid the bustle of larger fairs.

Pensthorpe Christmas Market

Pensthorpe, just outside Fakenham. Sun 23 November | 10am–3pm

This open-air Christmas market is filled with Norfolk food producers, craft stalls, and independent makers. It’s relaxed, festive and full of the best of local talent. There’s also the opportunity to wander the nature reserve afterwards, which is especially beautiful in late autumn.

Entry is just £3, and dogs are welcome outdoors
